DELVE DEEPER

Congregation Beth Sholom’s new Introduction to Judaism class aims to satisfy a thirst for deeper Jewish learning.

Congregation Beth Sholom’s new Introduction to Judaism class explores the modern take on traditional Jewish beliefs and practices. The class is co-taught by CBS spiritual leader, Rabbi Dan Ain, and CBS Rabbinic Intern, Amanda Russell. It is designed for individuals and couples from Jewish and various faith and cultural backgrounds who want to gain a deeper understanding of Jewish life through a traditional prism. The inclusive class is perfect for interfaith couples, seekers who had no religious upbringing who want to gain a deeper understanding of Jewish life, those raising Jewish children, individuals interested in conversion, and Jews who want a meaningful Jewish learning experience.

The engaging, university-accredited class aims to reach people where they are, satisfying the thirst for Jewish learning and strengthening the Jewish community. No knowledge of Hebrew is required, but you will learn to read the language as part of the class, in order to enrich your connection to Jewish Heritage.

There will be a focus on lively, open discussion, hands-on learning, and reflection. Rabbi Ain and Amanda have a desire to inspire meaningful, authentic connections to Judaism in his teachings—in a spirit that is inclusive, open, and vibrant.
