Event Details
The 8th Annual SF Aloha Run is at Crissy Field in San Francisco on Sunday, September 23rd, from 8:00am - 12:00pm (www.sfaloharun.org). Support from the community is vital to the success of this important fundraiser, which will help the Japanese Community Youth Council (JCYC - www.jcyc.org) provide high quality services to the children and youth of San Francisco and San Mateo County.
With a spectacular view of the Golden Gate Bridge, runners and walkers of all abilities will enjoy Hawaiian music, entertainment, tasty Aloha treats, and children’s activities. The course will begin at the north side of Crissy Field and proceed around the Golden Gate Promenade. This year, we expect to attract well over 1,000 runners and walkers to this popular family friendly San Francisco event.
Since 1970, JCYC has distinguished itself as one of the most successful child and youth development organizations in San Francisco. Today, JCYC annually serves over 5,000 children and youth from all socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds. Funds raised from this event will be used directly for our children and youth development programs in San Francisco and San Mateo County, including our JCYC Scholarship Program. Thanks to the support from 2017 SF Aloha Run donors, we raised $30,000 for the 2018 JCYC Scholarship Program, which is being disbursed to outstanding students in San Francisco who come from low-income households and will be the first from their family to attend college.
