This was the first of the "Modern" Izzy's and was opened on Izzy's Gomez Birthday, by Sam DuVall, a veteran San Francisco Restaurateur in February of 1987. Many photos of the original Izzy's and much old San Francisco memorabilia hang from the walls making the restaurant a history laden spot which appeals to history buffs of all ages.
