Western Neighborhoods Project (WNP) with support from the Prelinger Archives is thrilled to premiere new artwork by Ben Wood animating local history at The Museum at The Cliff on Saturday, September 3, 2022.
This installation will illuminate windows in the former Cliff House Restaurant facing east, overlooking the lower terrace and Ocean Beach. Using a variety of photographic media, Ben will showcase the bohemian surf culture of Kelly's Cove and the vibrant legacy of Playland at the Beach, which once graced Great Highway until its demolition 50 years ago this month.
His animated projections bring toghether newly-digitized and never before seen films with photographs submitted by members of the public and historic snapshots from the OpenSFHistory Archive.
