After more than a decade of developing his genre-blurring musical style, Los Angeles-born producer Deorro, née Erick Orrosquieta, has far outgrown his early days as a budding bedroom producer and local hero to become a worldwide-touring DJ, reputable songwriter and bona fide superstar producer. Today, he is armed with an impressive stockpile of globally certified, chart-topping, platinum-selling releases and viral hit singles, all built on the strength of his studio prowess and musical fluidity.
Deorro officially crossed over into the mainstream milieu in April 2014 with the release of “Five Hours,” on which he fully flexes his production chops and songwriting mastery: A warping crescendo of filters and fuzz builds a palpable sonic tension before a grenade of futuristic beats, bass, and bounce explodes through the speakers with no regard. His first-ever chart-topping single, the song became an immediate success worldwide, having charted in a number of countries, including reaching #8 on SNEP official French Singles Chart and peaking at #1 on Billboard’s Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart. The following year, Deorro teamed up with Grammy Award-winning pop/R&B star Chris Brown for a vocal-based remake of “Five Hours.” Released in March 2015, the updated “Five More Hours” elevated Deorro to the major leagues. The proof lives in the stats: With more than 19 global certifications, “Five More Hours” claims over 330 million Spotify streams and more than 200 million YouTube views of the official music video to date. The track also reached the Top 15 in the Spotify charts in 40 countries and reached the Top 15 in Apple Music’s overall charts in 16 countries.
